Plodding Along
Picture this:
You’ve just published your first romance novel, Christmas is right around the corner, summer is levelling out at a comfortable 30 degree average this year, and you’ve just pledged to do a blog post a month.
BAM!
Reality hits you like a damn freight train. Santa has robbed you for every cent and forced you back into the workforce, it’s now February where you’re sweltering in 38+ degree days, and you’re totally unable to write a shopping list a month, let alone a blog post!
But fuck it. It’s my website and I’ll lie if I want to. So, soz January, no post for you.
I want to run the excuse that I’ve been working on the sequel to Firsts & Lasts and that’s why I’ve been too busy to keep my three loyal blog followers up to date, but we all know I finished it back in September… so… In saying that, I have finally started publication process of Ends & Beginnings, the second book in the series that makes me cry each time I read it (spoiler: no I don’t kill off Logan or Ducky, stop asking), so it will be available in a few months and I can go through all the begging to buy and read again.
I’m also working on a a multitude of other individual titles and am truly impressing myself with how organised my brain is, despite all the plots and characters running around in there. The next priority of mine is a fun little religion based work (it’s fun because I’m not religious at all so that should be good, right?) and I’ve currently got the old Mum‘n’dad editors—as well as a few friends—combing through it with their feedback. It’s already Hubby’s fav out of my WIPs so far, and he’s pushing me to get it out there immediately following Ends & Beginnings.
In un-book-related life news, I’m back working casually three days at the best childcare centre on the planet, to afford my goal of attending as many gigs and concerts as we can this year. Jarrod and I saw Post Malone and Red Hot Chilli Peppers last week (🤩) and we’ve already got tickets to see the Beddy Rays in a fortnight and Escape the Fate in April. I’m making some progress with my studio—the photo/poster wall is well underway and now I just need to save up for a new rug so I can get rid of the dead cow Jarrod has… graciously let me borrow.
Shoot me a DM if you have any suggestions for the blog or if you want to just say ‘Hey, bitch, I really liked Firsts & Lasts’. Those messages always make my heart tingle 🥰
All my love and thank you for your support!
